Hi, my name is Raeleen. I am a potter. I found my love of the art of ceramics by accident. While going back to college in my late 30’s to finish my elementary education degree, I had a three hour break between classes. Since our youngest was at a babysitter, I didn’t want to waste that time and found a beginners ceramics class that would fit perfectly into my schedule. I started off with basic forms, and found I had a knack for it. I learned how to hand build, glaze and eventually throw on a potter’s wheel. Five semesters later I decided to utilize all I had learned and turned half of our one shed into a home studio. I enjoy making all kinds of pottery, including the urns you see here on this site.
